Stock ticker symbols and exchange suffixes by country
To analyze a stock outside the United States on TickerLean you add an exchange suffix to its ticker symbol. The suffix tells the data source which exchange you mean, because the same code can exist on several exchanges. This page lists the suffixes for the markets TickerLean covers, with examples you can paste into the search box.

How to find a ticker symbol
- Open TickerLean and type the company name in the search box; suggestions show the ticker and exchange. Use the market menu to limit results to one country.
- Or pick the company from the Browse popular stocks lists for each market.
- Check the exchange name next to the result so you do not confuse, for example, a company’s Tokyo listing with its US-traded receipt.
Tips for Korea, Japan and Hong Kong
- Korea: codes are 6 digits including leading zeros (005930, not 5930). KOSPI uses .KS and KOSDAQ uses .KQ.
- Japan: codes are 4 digits followed by .T. Some newer listings contain letters.
- Hong Kong: keep the leading zeros, for example 0700.HK;.
- China: Shanghai codes usually start with 6 (.SS); Shenzhen codes start with 0 or 3 (.SZ).
- US share classes: use a hyphen, for example BRK-B.
